Our story begins…
Denis Brown & Son is a family run business. We have been based in Woodchester, near Stroud for over 40 years.
Originating in Leyburn, North Yorkshire, where our family worked as farmers. In the late 19th century, we took a bold step to diversify into timber haulage and extraction.
This marked the start of a long and enduring relationship with the timber industry, a legacy that has shaped our values and commitment to quality.
In 1927, Denis Brown settled in Woodchester, continuing the family tradition by hauling timber for the local sawmill, H. Workman.
We remained focused on timber transport until the early 1990s, when we embraced a new chapter: retail.
Today, we specialize in supplying timber, fencing, and a wide range of related products, serving both local customers and those further afield.
